If you know a senior in the Bindloss area with a good story or two about country living, the Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry Foundation would like to know about it. Please connect them with Jen Zollner. 403.529.6384.
Our 2021 Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry and Western Music Show was cancelled due to rain and sudden changes in COVID restrictions. Thank you to all our partners, sponsors and supporters. Please support them whenever you can. We hope to hold a show in 2022.
Empty Saddles:
Sadly, Yodel Girl, Miriam Dreher recently passed away. Shelley Goldbeck, DTM had an interview with her for the September 2019 Alberta Cowboy Poetry Association’s newsletter, Barbwire Disptach.
With heavy hearts, the executive of the Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry and Music Foundation has cancelled the September 11 show. The forecast is for rain and cool weather, not nice conditions for listening to music in the park.
New COVID restrictions removed our back-up venue at the Medicine Hat Public Library.
Please stay connected for information on next year’s show.

It’s snowing. We always act so surprised when it snows in May but this is typical Springtime in Alberta weather. Ian Tyson’s song, Springtime in Alberta nails it!:
“Then without a warning, another winter storm comes ragin’ through….Springtime in Alberta, chills me to the bone.”
Our Stories from Seniors series continues with the Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry Foundation’s treasurer, Carol Eisenbarth’s story about her family’s barn. https://wordpress.com/page/mhcowboylife.com/261

The Stories from Seniors program has proven to be most gratifying for all. Jen and Cheryl (videographer) report that the storytellers show up for the shoot dressed to the nines and carrying themselves like they are Hollywood stars! Notice of Annual General Meeting:
The Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry Foundation ‘s annual general meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 16 at 7PM via Zoom. All members will be sent the meeting details. On the agenda is a plea for a new treasurer. Our current treasurer, Carol Eisenbarth, is needing to step away from some of her commitments. She reports that the job is not onerous, a few hours per month. She is willing to train and guide the new treasurer. If you or someone you know is willing to take on this vital role, please contact Jen Zollner.
