When cowboy poet, Hazel Rust passed away, her family raised and donated money to the Willow Creek Cowboy Gathering (2000 to 2020) for their youth poetry program. When the Willow Creek Cowboy Gathering folded their tent, they generously transferred the Hazel Rust Fund to the Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry Foundation so we could continue instilling the legacy of cowboy poetry in young people
