I lived on a farm for most of my life, with my parents and then when I married my husband, Bob, we also decided to buy a farm . We had cows, horses and many animals which I loved. We lived there for 54 years and had a wonderful life. We are now living in a condo in Medicine Hat. We have one son, Dale and he loved the farm as well. I also loved to ride horses and herd cattle.
My hobbies are playing golf, curling and playing music, we do have a five-piece working band and are into our 45th year.
I have worked in an offices for many years as a bookkeeper and other office duties. I have been the secretary and treasurer and sometimes both , for the Medicine Hat Live Music Club for 25 years. Also president, secretary and treasurer of a Ladies Curling League and was a board member of the Medicine Hat Curling Club.
I became familiar with Cowboy Poetry when we went to Maple Creek to their weekend performances. We went two years in a row and I really enjoyed it. I like all kinds of music and most poetry. I have always lived on a working farm and ranch, so understand what the cowboy poetry is about.
It was a very full filling life for me. It is a big change to live in a condo but we do enjoy it because we no longer want to work quite that hard anymore. I guess you can call us retired farmers who became lazy!!!!
